PM Modi concerned about Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India, says Indian High Commissioner

New Delhi: Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on Monday. The student protests that began last month turned so violent that Sheikh Hasina was forced to resign as prime minister and flee the country. Some well-known Pakistanis in Pakistan are very happy with this violence in Bangladesh. Abdul Basit, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India, released a video congratulating the Bangladeshis.

Abdul Basit said, “Many congratulations to the people of Bangladesh that Hasina has fled from Bangladesh and reached India. He blamed Sheikh Hasina for the distance between Pakistan and Bangladesh and said that she kept old things in her heart and whenever Pakistan extended its hand, she ignored it and gave importance to India.

Abdul Basit also hit out at India, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India will be very unhappy with Sheikh Hasina’s visit. He said it would have been better if Sheikh Hasina had resigned a month ago, then the 300 deaths that happened would not have happened, but the politicians understand a little late.
